Nude Body

This was the first painting for my "Nude Body" class with Kent Williams last semester. It was a self-portrait with an inanimate object that is a representation of an animate thing. What? Yes. I tried not to take things too seriously.

Anyway, if you're wondering "Was he really neked when he took the photo reference?" The answer is "no." And "yes." Which really means "mostly," and not "totally."

This is the third and final painting of the class. We painted from a live model in class and later took photo ref to refine it. I super-refined it. Maybe too much so. But hey, both my finished paintings were hanging in the school's gallery last semester so I guess it couldn't be that bad, ay? (Maybe they just had nothing better?)

I know the truth behind the references photos! You can't kill the truth!

And your work is good enough to get into the student gallery. So don't put yourself down mm?

Just don't think you're too good to go to a workshop... ;)

Wow neat! This is a really great site! I am wondering if anyone else has come across something
like this in the past? Keep up the great work!
